A Little Education Background

I grew up in the East-Valley of the Phoenix Metro Area.  I graduated summa cum laude from Mesa High which afforded me a full-ride scholarship to attend Arizona State University.  While earning my SCM degree at ASU I participated in numerous extracurricular activities including competing in the Logistics National Case Competition in Denver, Colorado and serving as the VP of Public Relations for the Business School Council.

Along with my Bachelors I received a Barrett Honors College Certificate for my participation in the Intel Collaborative thesis project.  I was also part of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Golden Key International Honour Society and The Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Throughout high school and college a huge passion of mine was writing, recording and performing music.  I played in numerous bands and performed across Arizona and the Southwest.

Early Career

During my senior year of high school and freshman year of college I interned at Intel in Chandler, Arizona.  I was afforded this early opportunity though a HS-College Coop with Mesa High, Chandler Gilbert Community College & Intel.  This would be the first time I learned about HTML, programming and building computers.  Skills that have served me ever since.

During my Junior and Senior year at ASU I interned at Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, Arizona.  This time my focus would be on Supply Chain working in the procurement department.  SCM of course was my major so it was a perfect fit and I moved directly into a full time Buyer role before graduating.

I was promoted several times within the procurement and operations departments of Honeywell finishing my career there working as the Lead Operational Excellence Analyst for the Phoenix plant.  While working at Honeywell, I gained several valuable skills I still use today. This includes an in-depth technical knowledge of creating automation with MS applications, specifically Excel.  I also expanded my knowledge of databases, programming and planning as an analyst.  All of this was on top of the leadership, six sigma, lean and other SCM knowledge I picked up along the way.

Entrepreneurship

I left Honeywell in late 2009 to found Total Financial Network with a life long friend Reed Clarke.  We would focus on online lead generation for personal financial products as well as sales and marketing for small businesses in the Phoenix Area.  We partnered with many local and national providers to create a true full service network for small business owners.

We had early success in helping bundle commodity services with cutting edge online marketing techniques including social media, lead generation, email marketing, guerrilla marketing and more.

Due to life changes for both my business partner and myself, in 2012 I decided to move to Santa Rosa, California and focus on only the online lead generation part of our business.  Then as a solopreneur I would expand the scope to include multiple niche sites from various industries.  By utilizing advertising and affiliate monetization methods I was able to grow a portfolio of over 100 profitable websites.

Consulting

Because of my success in online lead generation, SEO and creative niche marketing; in 2013 I was contacted by past partners and customers to perform some independent consulting work.  After a few years of freelancing and moving to Portland, Oregon, I officially founded CV Solutions in 2015 to serve as a separate entity for this part of my business.

Around this same time I had focused the 50 most successful sites I had been managing into an automated platform.  I also set up an international team of virtual assistance to help operate and grow those sites.  Detailed standard operation procedures (SOPs) and Process Maps were created to help automate this and ensure quality control.  These were skills I learned in college, put into practice at Honeywell and now brought to my consulting clients (to bring things full circle).

Datashield an ADT Company

Long story short one of my consulting clients offered me a full time position running marketing for them.  I took the new challenge to join a startup culture backed by a Fortune 500 company.  After a year building the department process and developing a digital go-to-market strategy, they promoted to Director of Demand Generation where I took over portions of business development as well as the MarTech stack and CRM.

Personal Life

On the personal side of things I am still an avid musician.  Writing and recording music as well as playing guitar / bass on a daily basis.  I am a fitness enthusiast with a focus on weight lifting and hiking.  When I am not doing that I am spending time with my amazing family; the love of my life Amber and my two kids Landon and Kolbie.

Personal development via books and audio is also a passion of of mine and has been a major focus since I left Honeywell in 2009.  In the past I was a really into off-roading, motorcycles, modifying Jeeps, target shooting, rock climbing, camping and hunting.  Maybe now that I am back in the valley those are hobbies I can get back into again.
